Select Sires, Inc is the largest producer of bovine semen in the U.S. and had a need to expand their facilities. The design of the export barns provides enhanced biosecurity for the bulls and compliance with European Union import regulations for bovine semen. The barns also provide Select Sires, Inc an additional 88 stalls for bull housing and semen production. This project enables Select Sires to grow its market in the European Union and other countries that have adopted those regulatory conditions.
The building task force wanted this building to carry a distinctively post and beam era appearance to accent the facilities agricultural and outdoor use. The large front porch provides “old barn” charisma and a great gathering area for campers. A complete second story loft adds valuable storage space to meet the needs of the camp.
This 3,120 square foot garage was built to compliment the 1800’s built residence. The building holds the era dated charisma of local architecture and blends the construction design necessary to make it fully functional. The windows on all four sides of the cupola create a natural light port for the center of the building. The owner wanted to use actual sliding “barn” doors in order to complete the era connectedness of this project. This building provided a beautiful backdrop and facility for the outdoor ceremony and reception for the owner’s daughter’s wedding.
The development of this 2,632 square foot office/management facility carries the character of an original 1800’s era post and beam structure with all the warmth and charisma of current practice construction design. High lighted exterior design features such as standing seam roofing, 4 gabled cupola, 2 dormers, and cultured stone wainscoat are coupled with multiple interior finishes to create era dated elements that are stunning and intriguing. The interior developments include seven different natural wood finishes, heavy timber appearances, rough sawn railings, and hand crafted furnishings. Not only does this new building look great, but it also supplies multiple levels of efficiency. The construction method with high insulation values creates high energy efficiency and the building layout supplies excellent personnel efficiency.
The development of this 2,100 square foot community center carries the character of an original 1800’s era post and beam structure with all the warmth and charisma of up to date construction design. Hand hewn beams, double fireplace and chimney, stamped concrete, stainless and concrete counter work makes this structure truly original. This center is an ideal meeting area for family reunions, community events, and much more.
Freeman’s Country Market is a multi-functioning retail store. Their area of sales include deli and bulk foods, ice cream shoppe, gourmet coffee, crafts and collectibles, seasonal produce, and a variety of seasonal activities such as hayrides and school field trips. The wrap around porch supplies a relaxed country atmosphere while enhancing the buildings appearance while the high, cathedral ceilings create an open atmosphere inside the store.
This is truly a Green Building! This biointegrated sustainable agriculture facility grows crops year-round, off-the-grid using renewable energy, collected rainwater, and environmentally responsible growing methods. It is designed with specific areas for aquaponics (organic hydroponics and aquaculture), worm composting (vermicomposting), herb drying and food processing. Featured crops include fresh herbs, salad greens (arugula), specialty vegetables, and ornamental fish. Passive solar south facing clear glazing plus a roof mounted active solar thermal collector system with radiant floor heating/thermal curtain systems provides for winter heating.
This 2,480 square foot horse stall barn built with a 10/12 roof pitch, sidewall porch, and traditional 2’ x 2’ windows give this new building a true “barn” feel. Custom built stalls with galvanized grills and a heated tack room lined with Pattern 116 provide needed amenities for the care of horses. A large loft above the stalls that is accessed from the storage area completes the functionality of this barn.
This 2,652 square foot garden center has the feel and character of an old barn setting yet has all the benefits of a new building. The use of standing seam roofing, vertical siding, wrap around gable porch, and limestone entry creates the experience that Ciminello’s Garden Center needed for their clientele. The interior with exposed trusses gives a rustic yet inviting feel to the shopping experience.
